Class 4

Welcome to Class 4

In Class 4 we enjoy learning and use lots of different methods to help us.

In English we study a wide variety of texts that relate to the connected curriculum. We do this in many ways: through discussion, using drama techniques to enhance our learning and further our understanding, working collaboratively to investigate the text further, sharing our ideas as a class and writing our own stories and pieces of work that reflect the text.

Each Maths session takes place in a small group, where we learn efficient methods to answer questions on fluency, we practise and consolidate our learning in all areas of Mathematics so that we are confident and able to solve problems and reason independently.

Our connected curriculum enables us to explore curriculum themes through history, geography, art, design, technology and science. Music, French, Computing and P.E. are taught separately. R.E. is taught through our Christian values, the Understanding Christianity scheme and the Peterborough Diocese syllabus.

We enrich the curriculum by inviting people into school to share their experiences on a specific subject relating to our curriculum, visits in the local area, and visits relating to our connected curriculum.  Children in Class 4 also have the opportunity to take part in a residential experience, following the outdoor curriculum.
